Touka mortifies Kaneki since he does not belong to the group of humans nor ghouls, theres nowhere he truly belongs. Touka slams Kanekis head against a nearby wall, and discerns that he is surely a ghoul, as Kanekis body isnt injured via her attack. Taking Touka by offense, he declares that hes not like those ghoul monsters. He reluctantly swallows it, beginning to express guilt, for he was so desperate to find another way to feed himself as nothing more than a human. Touka offers help, by attempting to shove the meat into Kanekis mouth. Kaneki tries to stick to his human side, persisting that he will not eat the human meat under any circumstance. She mentions that the ghoul world is the worst. Kaneki apprehensively questions about what ghouls are, to which Touka responds that ghouls kill people who have no connection to their fellow ghouls, and that they basically have no concepts, morals or order in society. Touka and Nisihiki finally charge, engaging in a brawl, with Touka winning. The two began to debate, arguing over whose strength really deserved the ownership of the small alley. Nishiki replies that Rize is in fact dead, and that the space was originally his until Rize came along. Touka intervenes, insisting that this is not Nishikis property, but rather, Rizes feeding ground. Nishiki corners him and suddenly chokes Kaneki, who apologizes, saying that he didnt know the territory was someone elses property. Kaneki notices that Nishiki has grown somewhat hostile towards him, as he cracks a finger. Nishiki starts to assess Kaneki, concluding that he is indeed a ghoul after he had purchased so much coffee from the store. He then notices a food hamper left for him by Hide. Kaneki discovers that not only could he drink the brewed coffee, but also eat the coffee grains. Kaneki also remembers resisting the package of human meat by drinking coffee to suppress his appetite. He then reminisces over the previous night, when Yoshimura explained Kanekis origin as a ghoul, with Rize being responsible for it. The two try to find a way to save Kaneki from himself.Kaneki recalls that he met Nishiki at the convenience store earlier that day. During the recent chapters it is revealed that Hide is the ScareCrow, but he appears to have a scar running down his face and neck, but he hides it with a cloth. The ScareCrow saves many people including Amon, and Kaneki. The ScareCrow is shown not being able to speak. He has a ScareCrow mask, so earned his nickname as the ScareCrow. Three years later a masked figure appears, saving Amon. Hide kneels down to him, and says “Let’s go home” Kaneki is shown hungry and in his kakuja form. Hide sneaks away from Command, where he finds Kaneki in the sewers, who had been injured during his battle with Amon. Kaneki stricken with grief carries Hide through the street, where he laid Hides body down in-front of Arima a CCG invesgator. “Let’s go home” before sub-coming to his wound and dying. Hide stood in his own blood quoting “I messed up a bit out there” before falling down, Kaneki catches him. Kaneki smiles at what Hide said, which causes Hide to smile. “Eyepatch that’s what they call you.” Then he went to say “Styling it up?” To lighten the mood Hide gestured to his eye, and covering it. Hide noticed Kaneki hiding his face from him, and informed him that it was alright, that he already knew. Commenting “Sorry this one’s lousy” after taking a drink from his. Once Kaneki had woken up, Hide made coffee for the two. Soon Hide finds a very injured Kaneki lying in an alleyway. He was known as the Eyepatch.ĭuring the “Owl Suppression Raid” Hide was in command, but he stuck off to find Kaneki.Īnime version: Hide disappears into the crowd and gets caughts by Noro and fatally injured. But as the ScareCrow he wears a traditional Kimono, flip flops, an old fashion hat, and a mask. Hide is shown to wear a black and yellow jacket, bright colors, bright orange headphones.
